No doubt, sportsman’s success depends mostly on the continuous and intensive physical training. Still, to bring and maintain it on the professional level, effective portfolio is required.
Solution
Our team was tasked with the full-cycle implementation of advanced video design features and integration of them with the existing system in the cloud. Designed for football, basketball and volleyball players, as well as their coaches, the solution provides rich functionality for creating training footages, game analysis and emailing game clips, recruiting videos or even keepsake footages.
Leveraging solid expertise in media software development and cloud computing, Iflexion’s team selected FFmpeg open source libraries and Amazon Web Services to implement the following functional features.
Editing Videos and Creating Clips
End users are enabled to transform long and boring footages of games, practices, and training sessions into catching and targeted clips directly through the browser. This includes Pulling clips, video captioning, highlighting with circles, arrows, lines, etc., adding music and many more.
The solution allows loading large video files of multiple media formats, including avi, mp4, wmv, mpeg, mov, flv, m4v, mpg, mts, and has a scalable repository for source videos keeping, making them available at any place of the world. Iflexion implemented conversion of video files to other format. Windows Service on a separate server was leveraged to implement high-load conversion without interrupting or slowing down the system’s performance.
Role-Based Video Management
Integrated with the source system, the solution leverages the existing user accounts. End users can manage videos and folders thorough their personal profiles – either player profiles for individual players or position profiles used by the coaching staff for training and analysis.
To ensure seamless video file viewing and on-the-fly editing, our team built a number of media players from scratch.
The solution also allows for categorizing clips into folders, emailing videos directly from the system and tracking file status at any time. To support status tracking, we implemented automated e-mail notification with the use of SES Amazon Web Service.
Seamless Video Streaming
Iflexion integrated the solution with Microsoft Expression Encoder to integrate music and effects to videos without loss of quality. The system uses Amazon CloudFront content delivery network providing end users with high-speed real-time data transfer. Our team created an intuitive and compelling user interface matching the one of the Customer’s solution. Catching and enjoyable interface, quick response and the original look and feel altogether contribute to fluid user experience.
